It's official!
Scott Sayre officially announced in front of family, employees, friends, and supporters that he will challenge State Senator Emmett Hanger (R-24 Senate District) in the GOP Primary to be held June 12.
In his company's Fishersville headquarters, at his second appearance of the morning and in front of approximately 50 people, Scott was introduced to the crowd by Rockingham Republican Chairman Mike Meredith. Many influential Republican grassroots leaders were there as well as business leaders in the community.
He talked about growing up in Waynesboro and about his vision for representing the citizens of the 24th District. After speaking, he introduced his wife Mary and then mingled with the crowd of well-wishers until time to leave for his next appearance which was taking place in Green County.

Took a ride with Rhonda Winfield this afternoon to catch Scott Sayre's announcement that took place at Shickel's Metal Works in Bridgewater at 4:00.
WHSV TV-3 was there as well as a newspaper reporter and photographer, and about 30 supporters turned out to hear Scott's announcement. Afterwards he took questions and then thanked those who came out to support him. He left soon after on his way to the last stop of the day in Highland County.
VCAP, the conservative group out of Richmond, is backing Sayre in his bid to unseat Hanger. For more information about today's announcement check VCAP's website.
The Primary will take place June 12.
