Big Gulp

I've never had a 64-ounce soft drink. It's hard enough to drink a smaller size without the ice melting and watering it down into yucky has-been soda.

Nevertheless, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's suggestion to ban large soft drinks sounds like one more step toward an overbearing nanny government "taking care" of its citizens.

I hope those who care to be responsible for themselves continue to be in the majority, that Bloomberg will reconsider his ridiculous proposal, and that government learns its place is not to be parked squarely on our constitutional rights.
