Peck's Barbecue now in Staunton-Augusta County

Peck's Barbecue was a Waynesboro staple ... located on Rt. 250 at Lew Dewitt Boulevard for years, it was leveled last summer to make way for the new CVS Pharmacy building. At the time they said they would relocate to the Staunton area ... and it now appears that they have done so.

I received the following comment on my blog today:
The Peck's family saw your comment. We are past the staunton mall towards Jollivue starting to build. Our hours right now in the trailer are tuesday through sat. 11-3.
While I have not seen their temporary quarters, it must be located on Rt. 11 (Greenville Avenue) south of Staunton Mall and south of the Rt. 262 bypass just over the city line in Augusta County.

Hours: Tues-Sat, 11-3. For everyone who remembers Peck's Barbecue, and for those who would like to wrap their lips around something really good, slip on by and check them out. I wonder how long before the new building will be ready.....

Waynesboro's Peck's BBQ closes ... promises to reopen in Staunton

That icon of eateries on the corner of Lew DeWitt Boulevard and Rt. 250 in Waynesboro has closed its doors. After 25 years of serving BBQ and slaw, the owner of Peck's Bar-B-Que sold his valuable lot to CVS Pharmacy and plans to move to a location near Staunton Mall. Peck's also operates a catering service that has been used for political events including a 2005 Jerry Kilgore fundraiser in Andre Viette's garden in Fishersville. The Waynesboro News Virginian has an article here.
