Chix with Stix ... SWAC Niece makes James River High School JV field hockey team!

SWAC Niece playing a 2009 field hockey tournament in Chesterfield.

Congratulations to SWAC Niece who will be a freshman at James River High School and who made the Girls Junior Varsity Field Hockey 2010-11 team. She's an old pro at field hockey and has will be an asset as they go up against schools such as Midlothian (her mother's alma mater), Manchester, Cosby, Bird, Monacan, Clover Hill, and Collegiate.

Way to go, SWAC Niece! We're looking forward to cheering you on!

Good defense!

Parents on the sidelines ...

Spent Saturday at SWAC Niece's field hockey tournament in Chesterfield. What fun! Parents and players mixing and mingling between games and enjoying the day. Her first game was 8 am and she finished up around 2:30.

The weather in Richmond was hot and muggy ... upper 80s with hit-and-miss thunderstorms that did not materialize over the playing field. Water bottles were filled and refilled ... ice was distributed to prevent wilted players on the field.

They didn't win the tournament but they had fun, as did I. Great game, SWAC Niece!
