From Republican Advance....

So the Republicans took a thumping in November ... they're down and depressed about the losses and not sure of their way?

That's not what is projected at The Homestead this weekend as the Party's most faithful gather to celebrate conservatism and express faith and optimism that we will remain the dominant Party in Virginia.

Almost 600 Republicans -- a sold-out crowd -- met last night and heard from Congressman Virgil Goode and Congresswoman Thelma Drake who fired up the crowd with good words about days to come for Virginia Republicans.

Ed Gillespie was seen making the rounds last night ... he is expected to be voted in today as the new Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia. Kate Obenshain Griffin and her husband, Phil, were visiting with electeds and activists ... as well as Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, Attorney General Bob McDonnell, Congressman Tom Davis, Delegate Chris Saxman, State Senator Mark Obenshain, and many others.

Bloggers were out and about ... talked at length with Elephant Ears, RightsideVA, and others.

Today is a full slate of activities and it's time to head out the door for breakfast with speakers Bill Bolling and Tom Davis.....

Republitarian, Mark Obenshain was gracious as he always is. He was surrounded by folks most of the time and I didn't really talk with him much at this event except to again thank him for his conservative leadership ... however, I know where he stands on the issues I care about and he's right there with my way of thinking. Visited his hospitality suite to show support for what they're doing. Sorry I can't offer anymore than that.
