I've got C-SPAN on in the background as I work at the computer ... and the debate continues between those who support the President's request for additional troops to Iraq, and those who don't get it.
I'd like to be able to say it's the Republicans vs the Democrats but, unfortunately, that is no longer true.
With turncoats like Republicans John Warner and Tom Davis coming out on the side of the Demcorats -- against our Republican President -- this debate has taken a sad, even more political turn.
Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ilinois) read a long list of requests for support from real communications from real soldiers and veterans who say there is no substitute for victory ... we HAVE to win this war.
MY Congressman, Bob Goodlatte, will speak shortly so I am hoping to see his speech.
The only political spin and posturing in this entire debate is on the side of the Democrats.
We were attacked on 9/11. We ALL agreed to go to war. Now some want to use their 20/20 hindsight to pull out, give up, and thumb their noses at the troops who have died to protect our safety and freedom.
WIN THE WAR! Victory in Iraq!

That's America's fifth column for you....
That "fifth column" is going to be the undoing of this country unless we begin to see more conservative journalists.
As a former home school mom (for 16 years; both kids are in college now), I'm happy to say many of our CONSERVATIVE home school students are going into journalism, politics, law, and other job categories that have been taken over by liberals the past 30 years.
There's hope for America IF enough people will pay attention and help NOW. That includes publicly standing up to the anti-war protesters and taking an active part in politics.
The "fifth column" is out of control and, as Fox News Channel and others come into play, it is causing bitter responses against conservatives by people like Dennis Neal a the MisLeader.
I look at Fox News as "news choice." Why would Dennis be so against that??!
Prince Harry to Fight In Iraq ,,, and Bush's Girls? Harry will be serving on the front line in Iraq by the end of the month. The 22-year-old prince will head for Basra with comrades from the Blues and Royals Regiment within days and will then probably be deployed along the border with Iran
This war involves the worst foreign policy mistake in the history of this country We find ourselves in a very deep hole. We need to find a way to dig out of it." Keep fighting the good fight.
Republicans Vote To Continue Their Slow Bleed Of Our Troops In Iraq There can be no other more pernicious "slow bleed" than the unnecessary deaths of the 3,133 U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq defending the republicans' and the Bush administration's lies and excuses for keeping our nation's defenders hunkered down in the middle of Iraq's civil war.
