UPDATE: Valley hits 100 degrees at 2 pm ... heat advisory for 2nd day

It's hot out there folks, and for the second day in a row a heat advisory has been issued in the Shenandoah Valley until 8:00 p.m. At noon it was 99 degrees west of Staunton....

Update: The thermometer topped out at 100 degrees at 2 p.m.

Man, that is hot! I just got back home to Southern California from Washington, D.C. It's way cooler here, which is unusual.

Just drink a lot of liquids and hang out in the shade, I guess.

Glad you had safe travels from the East Coast back home.

Temps this hot are unusual for here but not unheard of. Hopefully, this will be our hottest day of the year and we'll start moderating back now toward cooler temps as we head for fall...

Meanwhile, we're staying in the air conditioning as much as possible! Enjoy the cool temps in California!
