Crunching the numbers in Tuesday's primaries

The Washington Examiner's senior political analyst Michael Barone crunched the numbers from Tuesday's primaries in Missouri and Michigan and came up with dreadful results for Obama Democrats.

The big news coming out of Missouri was that its "Proposition C" passed by an overwhelming 71% percent. What may not be known is that it was carried by every locality except the city of St. Louis.

In results that saw twice as many Republicans turn out at the polls as Democrats, Mr. Barone noted:
Another way to look at it: Republicans won 66% of the two-party vote in Michigan and 65% of the two-party vote in Missouri. Quite a contrast from the 2008 presidential election, in which Barack Obama carried Michigan 57%-41% and lost Missouri by the extremely narrow margin of 0.2%.
Looking at the returns, it's enough to make a Democrat weep as Republicans continue building momentum as November looms.
