Perry lawsuit: judge halts printing of VA presidential primary ballots

Fox News has reported that U.S. District Judge John Gibney has put a halt on printing Virginia's presidential primary ballots until after he rules on Texas Governor Rick Perry's ballot challenge.

Fox News wrote:

U.S. District Judge John A. Gibney Jr. has ordered the Virginia State Board of Elections to send directives to each of the state's local boards, telling them not to print any absentee ballots until after the emergency motion is heard on Friday.

After only two candidates met the criteria to get on Virginia's ballot, Perry sued for access and was joined by three others who didn't even submit petitions to participate in the process. I have certainly changed my opinion of Perry and others because of their desire to cry and blame someone else when they did not follow the rules and submit the necessary number of signatures.

Should Virginia lower the requirements for candidates? That's a decision for the General Assembly. However, until it happens, the rules are in place and need to be followed. Unfortunately, I've lost a great deal of respect for Rick Perry.
