Mother's Day 2012 was celebrated with my parents as we enjoyed lunch on the patio at Baker's Crust in the Short Pump area of Richmond. What a wonderful day to spend with family!
With temps in the 70s and a slight breeze, it was a perfect spring day.
While celebrating Mother's Day, we also celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday ...
... with lava cake, ice cream, and whipped cream for seven. We couldn't get the candles lighted because of the breeze on the patio. Oh, well ... happy 50th birthday, Old Man! LOL.
The food at Baker's Crust was, as always, fabulous. Here's my sister's woodfired pizza with caramelized onions, goat cheese, crushed tomatoes, and mushrooms.
My parents got the Chicken and Apple sandwich with house chips and pickle spear ... sliced chicken breast, Muenster cheese, spinach, caramelized onions, apples and honey mustard dressing on sourdough, heated and served open faced.
Chicken Salad sandwich (front) ... SWAC Niece's Shrimp and Crab Linguini (left) made of tiger shrimp, jumbo lump crabmeat, asparagus and hickory smoked bacon, sautéed in white wine, garlic, cream and Parmesan cheese and tossed with linguine.
