7 American troops killed in Afghanistan helicopter crash

Seven American troops were killed Thursday when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Afghanistan.

USA Today reported:

The crash occurred in Shah Wali Kot, a district of Kandahar province, the heartland of the Taliban insurgents. The Black Hawk, the Army's workhorse helicopter for transporting troops and gear, burned after the crash. Nobody survived.

Prayers go out to the families of those who were killed. Freedom is not free....

Update: Two more American troops were killed Friday when an  Afghan security force member turned his gun on them.

Fox News reported:

Another Afghan policeman turned his weapon on American allies on Friday in the country's west, killing two U.S. service members in the latest of a disturbing string of attacks by Afghan security forces on the international troops training them.
