Photos #2 ... Shenandoah Valley BIG snow of 2014

A snowy sunflower in the garden waits for warmer weather.

The winter woods always call me. They provide a quiet, tranquil feeling when it snows that brings about a peace that is hard to describe. Tucked away out of the wind, a walk in the woods provides an unobtrusive way to observe animal and bird tracks, listen to the creaking of limbs, and take in the peaceful landscape. It's the silence of rural living.

The frozen pond on a wintry day didn't provide water for visiting birds or critters.

Flocked evergreen trees looked like something in a Norman Rockwell painting.

While I roamed the yard, SWAC Husband shoveled a path from the back porch to the gate.
