And what exactly does that mean anyways? That the only option available to the US is to keep on blindly funding the war? I don't know if you noticed but additional war funding was approved.. It is Bush that is threatening to block the funding. I don't know if you remember the elections or on what kind of platforms people got elected into office with... That just might be a representation of what the voting section of the US populace wants... Funny how that is also mirrored in the current opinion polls...
And what exactly is that grapchic your using suppossed to mean anyways? Do you really believe that one day people just woke up and randomly decided that it was time to start attacking the US and 'the West'?
Signalfire said, I don't know if you noticed but additional war funding was approved.. It is Bush that is threatening to block the funding.
Don't make me laugh. Yes, more war funding was approved ... along with $28 billion in pork spending attached by the dems in order to buy votes to "approve" that war spending.
Signalfire said, Funny how that is also mirrored in the current opinion polls...
The MSM, in conjunction with the dems, are pushing an agenda that is put out there day after day to the public. Pound that negative war image in continuously ... and then run an "opinion" poll. Voila! You get the results you were looking for because the propaganda has been successfully spun by MSM and libs.

Now surely you're smart enough to know what that graphic means. It doesn't matter if "people" (that would be Middle Eastern Muslim terrorists) randomly woke up one day and decided to attack, or if they planned it for years -- we still lost 3,000 innocent people in the largest attack ever on American soil. That, my friend, is an act of war.
Your train of thought baffles me because you seem to have no comprehension or remembrance of that act of war.
How old are you, Signalfire? Do you remember 9/11? Do you remember how frightened we were that day when we didn't know if it would hit again or where? Do you remember those Twin Towers falling and terrified people running for their lives away from the carnage down the streets of NYC?
Do you remember the swell of pride and determination that grew out of 9/11 when American flags showed up everywhere -- houses, vehicles, businesses? Do you remember Congress standing on the steps of the Capitol singing "God Bless America"?
Nancy Pelosi, who is one of those in "leadership," is going against the wishes of the administration and the President. In many circles that would be called insubordination. Unfortunately, with the dems it's called "business as usual."

Yeah... pork spending... and your point is what? Don't even try to make it sound like the republicans don't add pork spending to bills... It's a routine practice - a crappy one but one that both parties engage in... And you just seem to keep thinking that I like/defend the democrates...

Yeah, just like during the buildup to the war the news outlets played pro war coverage and the support for the war was high and now that the news organizations are beginning to ask a few very mild questions it's called pounding? Have you seen any other country's news reporting? They ask actual in depth serious questions of their politicians and give them space to respond - unlike all of the major outlets in the us which when they ask questions place them in this format to ensure that no meaningful discussion is allowed and only minor talking points are allowed in.

And once again you seem to be coming from the camp that thinks before 9/11 everything was just neutral and that history started on that day... As if the US hasn't been involved in actions occuring around the world for decades.
SWAC girl said, Your train of thought baffles me because you seem to have no comprehension or remembrance of that act of war.
Just like you have no rememberance for any of the many 'acts of war' that the US committed before 9/11...
SWAC girl said, How old are you, Signalfire?
Nice, age, like that even matters... But if you must know I'm above 15 and below 100... How old are you?
SWAC girl said, Do you remember 9/11?
Yeah... I remember it very clearly, saw it on the news, went to a candlelight vigil that evening...
SWAC girl said, Do you remember how frightened we were that day when we didn't know if it would hit again or where?
Nope, can't say that I joined in with the hysteria...
SWAC girl said, Do you remember those Twin Towers falling and terrified people running for their lives away from the carnage down the streets of NYC?
Yeah... Do you remember any of the inumerable bombs that has been dropped by the US government on countries around the world and on it's own citizens?
SWAC girl said, Do you remember the swell of pride and determination that grew out of 9/11 when American flags showed up everywhere -- houses, vehicles, businesses? Do you remember Congress standing on the steps of the Capitol singing "God Bless America"?
Yup, and I remember how disgusted and frightened that made me... The worst things that people and society - humanity - have done to each other are just about always wrapped up with a flag. This blind patriotism and the willingness to whitewash and ignore what your country is doing to others and even its own citizens... I find that truely frightening. I don't know where you learned your history but I suggest that you maybe take a more critical look and see just exactly what the 'Western World' - Europe used to lead the charge but now the US has taken over - has done to andcontinues to do to the rest of the world. I've heard the argument about how the US is just some benevolent peace loving nation which just tries to go around the world spreading freedom and democracy to everyone but that just doesn't live up to the facts of history. Do you know how many dictators the US has supported? What kinds of violence we have supported and encourged through our weapons and intelligence programs?
If you want to take a really quick view of world history you can look at things this way: due to a lot of reasons - largely internal conflicts - Europe developed the best weaponry and used that technology to conquer the world (the various European empires - not exactly a great way to make yourself loved around the world) and that extended to the Americas. The US eventually broke free and formed its own country and quickly got the native people under control and then went about building our own little empire to compete with Europe... Europe did itself in by hosting two world wars and now we have the most power and have been using that power ever since. I'm not sure if you're aware but you certainly don't go around making yourself loved through force...
It's not worth the time it takes to respond to your inane remarks. You are one of those "blame America first" people which you proved by saying you were not "frightened" at 9/11 but "became frightened" at the patriotism that sprang up in Americans because of that day. Of course there were previous acts of terrorism in the years before but 9/11 was an act of war with 3,000 innocents killed.
"Nice, age, like that even matters... But if you must know I'm above 15 and below 100... How old are you?"
Apparently it mattered to the Dems in regards to me...
As for everything else you posted, it can be summed up right here:
We see too much of the world as 'them' and 'the rest of America'. It lies out there. Beyond. It is not us. Those deaths, that war, this famine doesn't really concern us. It is 'their' problem.
Those statements are heinously false. Them is forever Us. If you think 'it' is not here, it soon will be.

Meanwhile, Pelosi wants to travel to Syria - much against the common sense of the administration.
Maybe we'll be lucky and she'll be held hostage against her will.
KEEP HER. We should then pay the Syrians for doing so.
