Wish them farewell at 11 am....

It's one hour out of your life ...

... Friday morning, May 4, at 11:00 a.m. ...

... please come out to the Staunton Armory and be part of the send-off for our local soldiers heading to Iraq!

We'll have American flags and signs and yellow ribbons ... it will be our way of saying ...

... THANK YOU!

"Thank you for your service, thank you for your dedication, thank you for your commitment to America. Thank you ... for keeping us free."

The Virginia National Guard's members of the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team consists of 150 SWAC-area volunteers who have been activated for 13 months of service. After initial training in Mississippi, they will deploy to Iraq.

Mark your calendar -- FRIDAY, May 4, at 11:00 a.m. -- football field next to Armory. Bring a sign, bring a yellow ribbon, bring an American flag! Come see them off and wish them well!

We've got loved ones leaving Quantico on Sunday, bound for Iraq. May they all be safe. And return, in good health, when the job is done.
