Barack Obama: "I pledge allegiance" ... not?

(SWAC Girl, 10/23/07)

During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. -- United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171

This is not true. He has been asked about the picture many time. They were sining the national anthem, and he was singing. He said he says the Pledge of Allegiance with his hand on his heart all the time, and has done so on CSPAN.

You need to freaking get a life. As long as he is paying his respects to the song, it's ok. This picture was taken after the Pledge, during the National Anthem. Get over yourself.

Did you know the National Anthem's tune is the same as an old drinking song?

To all of you who have commented that Mr. Obama was "singing the National Anthem," I would suggest you read the rest of the post which quotes the U.S. Code concerning proper decorum during the singing of the National Anthem.

Anyone who wishes to become President of the United States which includes serving as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Froces should be very much aware of the following:

During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. -- United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171

If Barack Obama wants to be President he would best be served knowing how to properly show respect for the nation's symbols that our military has fought and died for.

Thanks for stopping by.

swac girl has it right. During the National Anthem, we have our hand over our heart. Go to any sporting event- they always start with the National Anthem- and EVERYONE knows to stand and put their hand over their heart. Even if he is unpatriotic, he could have atleast faked. He knew everyone would be watching. No, this was no mistake.

For those who don't believe the authenticity of this despicable act, check it out on snopes.com. It is very true, and some people are naive enough to think otherwise. He has a questionable background with an unquestioned Muslim upbringing in a muslim country. Be smart people, use your head not your dreams!
