The eve of 9/11
It's the day before September 11th. This year marks 12 years since that beautiful September day when terrorists attacked America, killing 3,000 innocent souls and destroying the Twin Towers with two jet airliners while also ramming a jet into the Pentagon and into the countryside in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
I reflect every year. This one is no different even though it's been a dozen years since that day, but it's etched in my memory ... it will not escape my mind.
It bothers me that younger generations seem to already be detached from 9/11. After only 12 years. Why aren't they being taught of that tragic event?
Please fly an American flag on Wednesday in memory of those who died and as a tribute to our military, firefighters, police officers, First Responders, and everyone else who was on the front lines, not just on 9/11 but right on through today. Fly American flags at home, work, and anywhere you can.
And please don't forget what happened that day....

9/11 ... fly the American flag
On Sunday, September 11, 2011, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this tenth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms. In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism.
Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

Action Plan: So, here's what we need you to do ...
(1) Forward this information to everyone you know. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.
(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.
Thank you for your participation. God bless you and God Bless America!

Flag Day 2008
It's Flag Day. Do you have your American flag on display?Proclaimed in 1916 by Staunton's own Woodrow Wilson, Flag Day was started as a way for Americans to honor and show respect for the symbol of our nation, the symbol that represents those who have died defending America's freedoms.
Check these websites for more information on the history of Flag Day, and the proper ways to fly the flag.

Operation 9/11: Fly those American flags!

"I will not forget the wound to our country and those who inflicted it. I will not yield, I will not rest, I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people" - President George W. Bush, 2001
We are now five days away from the fifth anniversary of 9/11. Here's a plan for every red-blooded American next Tuesday - Operation 9/11: Fly those American flags!
On Tuesday, September 11, 2007, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States.Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this sixth anniversary of our country's worst tragedy.
We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to protect our cherished freedoms.
In the days, weeks, and months following 9/11, our nation was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared.
Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.
So here's two things we need to do:
(1) Pass this information on to everyone you know.
(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11.
Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round but if you don't then at least make it a priority on this day.
Thank you for your participation. May God bless America!
"The war we fight today is more than a military conflict; it is the decisive ideological struggle of the 21st century." - President George W. Bush, 8/31/06, Legionnaires Convention
