What a bust! The liberals tried to generate an alternative caffeine wave in America ... and failed miserably.
Donald Douglas has a good follow-up at American Power as he writes, "I followed the 'coffee parties' over the weekend, and at most we say maybe 40 people turn out for any individual event."
Kind of funny because liberals are working on revenge against the tea party movement and, as we all know, revenge often is not a motivator. Tea parties are fueled by love of country and a passion to retain the freedoms we all enjoy and that were fought for by our veterans. Check out Donald's post for links to others.

Shenandoah Valley tea party ... "Enough is enough"
It was a beautiful October afternoon in Front Royal for a gathering of patriots.
"Mob Czar" Ken Cruise
Air Force veteran SWAC Husband proudly held two flags throughout the rally.
She sang "God Bless America."
Suzanne Curran talked about the Shenandoah County real estate assessments and the hundreds who turned out for Thursday's meeting with supervisors, informing that the same assessment issues are going on in Augusta County and Gloucester.

09.12.09: They march to honor those who fought for our freedoms
One of the reasons I have so enjoyed being part of the grassroots in the SWAC area is getting to know neighbors and friends, people who have the same principles and beliefs that I have, folks who believe in America. While coordinating buses going to Washington, DC, on September 12, I have met new friends while working with familiar faces ... and I am amazed at the stories I hear, the reasons for spending a long day standing up for this country and the freedoms that are under attack.
One of those is Connie who sent an email and, with her permission, I am reprinting it here. She was one of the first to sign up for the bus trip and, when asked if she would be okay that day, she responded:
I don't know how I am going to handle it, but I hope I can. I have had a major loss of energy since the two major surgeries in the past 3 years and finding cancer twice, but this has got to be one of the most important causes I have stood up for.Even my eighty-something parents wanted to make the trip -- they of that World War II generation who saw this country saved from communism and socialism in the 1940s and are appalled at what is happening now. Health issues will probably prevent them from being there in body but they will definitely be there in spirit.
I want my children, grandchildren, and new great-granddaughter (arriving in September) to have a future and a country that is still a Republic, and I will do anything and everything to make sure that happens.
My father fought in WW I and was wounded three times, and I am now trying to have him honored for his bravery in the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor in upstate NY. The problem is all of the records were burned and I have to search everywhere to verify he received his purple heart which I am doing aggressively. This is another cause I am putting my whole heart into.
I am making this trip for him as well. He deserves to be honored and my family deserves to have the country he fought so bravely and valiantly for.
Join us on September 12 as we take our message to Washington, DC. Buses are filling up fast ... starting from Staunton with pickup points along I-81.
Together ... we WILL make a difference!

Where is Cindy Sheehan?
Now that a Democrat president is in Washington, where is Cindy Sheehan? She protested the war on terrorism when President George W. Bush was in office and even camped out at his Texas ranch.
July was, sadly, the deadliest month in the war with 42 American soldiers lost in Afghanistan. Another six were killed on August 1 and 2.
So where is Cindy Sheehan?
Has she ceased protesting because a Democrat is in office?
Has she decided the war actually is necessary?
Not that I want to hear her foul mouth ... but just wondering ... is she going to camp out in front of Barack Obama's residence away from DC? Is she going to march in front of the White House?
Remember when Ms. Sheehan protested the war in Charlottesville in 2007? Here's posts from that event:
- Win the War Counter-Rally a HUGE success in Charlottesville ... Cindy Sheehan protested by supporters of troops
- More photos from "Win the War" counter-rally to Cindy Sheehan in Charlottesville Friday....
- "Dear Ms. Sheehan" ... a letter from an 80-year-old Charlottesville resident
- A military mom at Win the War counter-rally to Cindy Sheehan in Charlottesville....
- Cindy Sheehan arrested in D.C.

Randalls Food Store fires employee for apprehending purse snatcher
Scenario: Tuesday, July 21 ... woman shopper in Randalls Food Store in Austin has her purse snatched by a 15-year-old who runs out the door. Produce manager and Army veteran Troy Schafer is returning from lunch when he sees what is happening and gives chase, along with a customer. Suspect is chased into a nearby field ... police arrive and arrest him ... customer's purse is recovered.
Would you consider Mr. Schafer a hero? In today's "don't get involved America," he is a refreshing breath of fresh air.
The problem? His employer, Randalls Food Store, fired him because, according to customer service representative Connie Yates, it was "against company policy." To do what? Help a customer? Chase a robber? Help a fellow citizen?
The news has broken all over Austin and this morning Mr. Schafer, along with the customer whose purse was snatched, Ann Welch, appeared on Fox & Friends where they relayed the incident. An email, JobsForTroy@yahoo.com, has sprung up for those with jobs to offer this courageous American citizen.
Randalls has told him he could reapply for his job in six months. Mr. Schafer needs a job before then ... he has bills to pay.
He told the Austin American-Statesman:
- Litigation in America is completely out of control. Many companies have initiated policies such as the one cited by Randalls because criminals have sued companies and won. Tort reform is badly needed and long overdue.
- Criminals now can prey on customers in Randalls because they know store employees cannot give chase.
- Military veterans, who have been trained to protect Americans, should be better appreciated by employers including Randalls Food Stores.
- Americans, who have been told they need to stand up to bullies, are now shown what happens when they become involved and actually do stand up to bullies.
- Americans, who for too long have had a "don't get involved" attitude, now have a reason to do just that.
Judging from the outrage in Austin, Randalls has been hearing from many customers including those who have vowed to boycott the store until Mr. Schafer is rehired. Want to contact Randalls?
However, this incident is, in my opinion, a sad lack of understanding on behalf of management in taking an individual incident into consideration instead of hiding behind a blanket company policy.
What happens to Mr. Schafer remains to be seen. Unless there is something we are unaware of about his employment, I would hope Randalls would reconsider and rehire this military veteran ... and thank him profoundly for his service to this country ... while realizing how fortunate they are to find such a dedicated employee.

"In a split-second decision, when someone is screaming for help, what do you do?" he asked. "I did what I thought was right. I still feel like I did the right thing. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror the next day if I didn't help that lady."Customer Ann Welsh reacted when told Mr. Schafer had been fired:
Welch said she appreciated the help Schafer and the unnamed customer gave her. She offered them money as a reward, she said, but they both refused.A few thoughts about this:
Schafer told her Saturday that he had been fired. Welch said Monday morning she asked the store manager to give Schafer his job back. But the manager told her his hands were tied.
Welch said she hopes Schafer finds work soon.
"He heard me needing help, and he helped me. And then you fire him in this economy? It's just wrong," she said. "It is absolutely wrong."

Memorial Day remembered in Goshen

D.E. Hite, a young 90-something and affectionately known to Augusta County residents as "Speedy," is a military veteran and patriot. A career Army officer who served through three wars, he honors his country and those who served her along with those who died for her.
Saturday found Mr. Hite in Goshen, a small town west of Staunton, as the community gathered to honor American heroes during this Memorial Day weekend:
On Saturday, after the singing of the national anthem, residents spoke of the sacrifices veterans have made, then placed a wreath at the site of the plaque, which lists the more than 150 Goshen residents who served in World War II.May we never forget to honor those who died....
"The men and women on this memorial readily and willingly gave a sacrifice to this nation," said D.E. Hite, who chaired the committee that helped bring the memorial to Goshen in 2005. "They proved this town and this nation is worth fighting for and even dying for."

NRA's Wayne LaPierre: "Charlton Heston was a great patriot"
The National Rifle Association's President Wayne LaPierre lost a great friend when Charlton Heston passed on this weekend. In a statement he said:Today, my heart is heavy with the loss of Charlton Heston. America has lost a great patriot. The Second Amendment has lost a faithful friend. So have I, and so have four million NRA members and eighty million gun owners. And so has every American who cares about the Bill of Rights, individual liberty, and Freedom. He concluded by saying:
And now, Charlton Heston has passed that duty to us - the next generation. I am as proud to continue his cause as I am to have known him as my friend.Read his entire statement here.
