Sayre headquarters humming along....

Spent yesterday afternoon at Sayre for Senate Headquarters in downtown Staunton with Spank That Donkey and John Maxfield.

It was busy as we took care of requests for yard signs, made phone calls, stuffed campaign letters, and everything else that goes along with a campaign.

Meanwhile, the liberal lefty bloggers over at Daily Whackjob (get your own link; I won't link to them here) were busy attacking John because he was appalled at their joking and making fun of mentally handicapped people, and demanded an apology from them.

While DWJ attacked John ... he was busy helping us as we worked for Scott Sayre, a man who is one of the largest employers of handicapped adults in Rockbridge County.

The Republicans talk the talk and walk the walk.

The liberal democrats talk the talk ... and then make fun of mentally challenged children.

Democrat ... thy name is hypocrite.

They play and tell fart jokes...we get candidates elected.

And they call ME immature..sheesh...

And just which candidates have you gotten elected, Mr. Davis?

I'll respond to this question from the whackette since I seem to detect a bit of sarcasm or lack of respect in her (his) tone...

Mr. Davis has helped with a number of candidates during his teen years but the one who counted the most was the re-election of President George W. Bush in 2004.

While many teens were wasting their time, Mr. Davis was participating in the American civic process of electing conservative candidates.

It makes me laugh that you think you have much influence in the real world.

By the way, since when am I a liberal? As I pointed out on Alex's site, I am a moderate conservative. I happen to blog at DWJ because it is more fun than being a relatively unknown fringe blogger.

I applaud your instinct to rush to point out that while you were helping someone that employs mentally handicapped people the Democrats were making fun of them. Sadly, it was not the Democrats... it was me. Anyways we were not making fun of retards, we were making fun of people who flame on the internet... much like you are trying to do to me.

Wasting their time...kinda sounds like the DWJ contributors. Grow up folks. And why don't you blog on something that matters--ie. Sayre/Hanger race, transportation, tax heights, the Republican/Democrat race for '08, illegal immigration...

...oh, that right. You choose to blog on mentally handicapped children and then laugh about it. Great site folks, keep it up.

So when Alex said "we get candidates elected" he really meant to say "we stuff mass mailers that 98% of people throw away, make annoying phone calls, and pound signs into the ground"... right?

Real shakers and movers on the political scene, aren't you ? ;O)

Mr. Hatter, thank you for stopping by. I detect defensiveness in your remarks....

Your comments about me are your own and not mine. I don't waste my time wondering about my influence on the "real" world; I get in there and work and do what I can.

You've missed the entire point of hypocrisy from the left when they flock to destroy someone like Ann Coulter who was joking about John Edwards (a grown man) ... yet, when the left and, sadly, you choose to make fun of mentally handicapped children, they scream "unfair" because they don't really mean it ... it's just a joke ... it's just in fun.

Oh, really?

Whether you're dem or moderate or whatever ... you're a hypocrite if you participate in it. And I think the more you guys protest proves you know you're wrong.

Ok, so by that logic, I could post rude pictures of a parapeligic if it corellated with a joke on flame wars?

Come on, I'm not even that stupid. There's a line and you crossed it. You all know you did. Your pride keeps you from simply apologizing. Istead, you go on the attack, hoping you'll offend me so much that I'll just go away and you won't have to face the consequences of your actions.

Try being humble for once. Take the high road.

Post whatever you want. I have never castigated someone for using their right to free speech. You can put up pictures of whomever or whatever you wish... doesn't affect me in the least.

"Whether you're dem or moderate or whatever ... you're a hypocrite if you participate in it." -- I am only a hypocrite, by definition, if I refuse to allow others the same allowances that I extend to myself.

You knowas well asI do the old saying, "The freedom of speech stops at my ear." Sure, you've got the right. But you also have a choice. Do you think it makes you cooler, more responsible, more of a man to post rude pictures of mentally disabled children and call them funny? You can wave your 1st Amendment rights all you want over here, funny thing is, is that if we were EVER caught posting the type of filth that you all posted--we would be crucified.

But I guess it's alright if DWJ does it. If conservatives did it, watch out--it would be a bloodbath--initiated by the left.

Ha,Ha,Ha, You've got her goat Max, by calling out the juvenile behavior of the DWJ bloggers!

I'd count in LG Bill Bolling, AG Bob McDonnell, Del. Cline, Saxman & Landes, etc. etc. to that list.

Oh yea. Good call. You know, you work so hard for so many, you sometimes loose count! And in the end, who will people remember more? The grassroots who work the fingers to the bone or the contributors to the DWJ who work their typing fingers to the bone.

And what's more funny, come to think of it, is that they will take us on over at their site 24/7 to try to get their warped point across, but when the Dog starts his offense against them, where are they on his site? I think this is a case of his bark being just as bad as his bite.

Yarg.

The SWAC team works hard for our candidates -- as all volunteers around the state and country do -- and when someone disparages that work it's a sure sign they have not been on the ground doing the grassroots volunteer work so necessary in every campaign.

There are those who complain about government ... and then there are those who actually try to do something about it. Sometimes your candidate wins, sometimes your candidate loses ... but at least you know you tried to make a difference.
