Wythe Candy Shop has been in Merchants Square on Duke of Gloucester Street for as long as I can remember. At this time of year there are colorful displays of Christmas goodies on the shelves just begging to be taken home ...
... chocolates and cookies ...
... and chocolate-covered pretzels ...
... and Christmas tree lollipops ...
... and more candy ...
... and gingerbread and Moravian cookies ...
... and more gingerbread ...
... and novelty food gifts such as shortbread cookies in a wintry mailbox ...

Colonial section of Williamsburg is a true American treasure. I get chill from the history that abounds the place every time I go. Don't forget historic Jamestown a short drive away either.
... and Yorktown, now home to mutual good friends.
