Read the bill! Virginians are volunteering to read the health care bill out loud streaming live across the country ... that's what the Republican Party of Virginia will coordinate over the next two days.If Congressional members cannot read the bill for themselves, everyday Americans will read it out loud for them.
Volunteers across Virginia will read all 2,400 pages of the health care bill out loud in 30-minute shifts, a process that will be ongoing day and night for almost 48 hours. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, it will be live-streamed at www.RPV.org/ReadTheBill to anyone with a computer at home, work, school, Congressional offices, laptops ... anywhere.

If you are willing to volunteer to help read a few pages of the bill, please call 804-780-0111 or email Dave.Rexrode@RPV.org today and provide your name and phone number, and someone will call you to determine a specific, 30-minute shift for you to volunteer that will best help our efforts. You will be provided with a copy of the bill and a special call-in number.
Background
On Sunday Robert Gibbs, President Obama's Press Secretary, stated that by this upcoming weekend, healthcare reform will be the law of the land, not just a legislative proposal.
We all know that the latest version of the Obama/Pelosi health care bill is bad medicine for Virginia. Not only will it destroy the world's greatest healthcare system, but will also have a negative impact on our already rattled economy.
President Obama and Speaker Pelosi are going to do whatever it takes to pass this bill. They may even try to approve the Senate version of the bill without the House of Representatives actually having to vote in favor of it! Sounds confusing, right? Unfortunately, it's one of the ways they are trying to "adjust" the rules to get their way. Just think, they could pass a massive healthcare takeover without an up or down vote on the legislation.
The Democrats are extremely desperate and are turning their focus on Virginia. There are four vulnerable Democrats who are wavering on whether to support this underhanded attempt to force a federal healthcare takeover. If Congressmen Nye, Connolly, Perriello, and Boucher vote NO, the healthcare takeover will not succeed.
It's that simple. Virginia's Congressmen will hold the key to the federal healthcare takeover.
Folks, we have the power to stop this government takeover but we need your help today. This may be your last chance to stop this legislation and the outcome is up to you.
