New Dominion Magazine wins awards

Congrats to Crystal and Chris Graham over at Waynesboro's Augusta Free Press for awards won by their New Dominion Magazine at the 2010 Virginia Press Association News, Editorial and Photo Contest. From the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce:
The New Dominion Magazine, published by Augusta Free Press LLC in Waynesboro, won three awards in the 2010 Virginia Press Association News, Editorial and Photo Contest.

The awards for The New Dominion included a first-place nor for editors Crystal and Chris Graham in headline writing, beating out Richmond Magazine, the Sweepstakes winner and the most honored magazine overall in the 2010 competition, which took second and third place in headline writing.

New Dominion photographer Mark Miller took second-place honors in the Pictorial Photo category for his photo of an assault victim in a case featured in the magazine's October 2010 issue. "Dramatic. The award was Miller's first as staff photographer with The New Dominion. Miller had previously won honors for his photographer work as a staff member at The News Leader in Staunton.

Chris Graham took the final honor for The New Dominion this year, a third-place award in the Public Affairs Writing category for a story on State Sen. Emmett Hanger that appeared in the magazine's December 2010 issue.
