Staunton gets a Starbucks

Staunton finally has its own Starbucks after the one in Waynesboro has been open for a year or more. Located at the gateway to the city on Richmond Road (I-81, exit 222), it is well-placed to catch those interstate travelers who need their Starbucks fix and may stop to gas up (Sheetz), shop (Wal-Mart, Lowe's), pick up groceries (Martin's), eat (Chili's, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Rowe's, Texas, Cracker Barrell, McDonald's, Burger King), spend the night (Days Inn), or catch an historical site (Frontier Culture Museum).

There are plenty of coffee shops in downtown so this location will probably cater more to motorists passing through the area.

Great, another Liberal hangout. I just love going to a Starbucks in my NRA tee-shirt or my Rush Limbaugh tee-shirt. This is especially true when the Starbucks is within a Barnes & Noble (e.g. Harrisonburg). I really get the looks from their customers while they are getting their daily dose of kool-aid from the Washington Post.

Hi. I'm sorry to say it, but unfortunately Starbucks in Staunton is closing in fall of 2009. Starbucks Corporation announced in Spring 2009 that this store is part of their "plot" to close hundreds of regularly-performing stores that could stay open. I'm so sorry to announce this sad news. Now we'll be going to Waynesboro or Harrisonburg to get a cup of coffee, vivano or another delicious beverage from Starbucks. Why don't they just close a few in the big cities, but don't take the only one in the small, happy town of Staunton. Shame on you, Starbucks Corporation : ( Starbucks lovers, unite!
