High wind warning in the Shenandoah Valley....

There is a high wind warning, with gusts up to 60 mph, in effect for the entire Shenandoah Valley today through 7:00 p.m. as a powerful cold front moves through. There is a high fire weather watch in effect, too.

Today has been extremely blustery with tree limbs creaking, some snapping, and the electricity blinking on and off ... possibly tree limbs on the power lines somewhere. Last week's ice storm left some branches broken and they are being blown out of the trees. Anything not anchored down will blow away on a day like this.

Winds will continue into the evening with temperatures falling into the 20s by evening and wind chills will be below zero. Low will be near the single digits. Monday's temperatures will be in the 30s with a high in the 40s on Tuesday.

It's winter in the Valley....
