My rural polling place was quiet when I arrived today to vote. I asked the poll workers if they had been busy and they said no, that it had been a slow day so far. It took me five minutes to sign in, vote, and get my "I Voted" sticker.
Saw signs for Huccabee, Obama, and Ron Paul but no others. Chris Green called to say he had seen Hillary signs in the median in Staunton but I haven't been that direction today ... was out in the county.
The gray, overcast day has the temperature right at freezing at 2:00 and it is sleeting which may suppress voter turnout even more.
It seems odd to be at home when the polls are open ... I am usually manning them on election day. Eight years ago I was in Richmond on primary day while working for the Bush for President campaign, and I spent part of the day driving folks to the polls, part of the day handing out sample ballots at the polls, and part of the day taking up signs after the polls closed. What a difference eight years makes.
