The battle over stormwater fees continues on Waynesboro City Council. Members of council are split over how to pay for the $1.2 million program, according to the Waynesboro News Virginian.
Mayor Tom Reynolds, Frank Lucente, and Tim Williams would like to use the general fund to pay for the program. However, Reynolds wants a tax increase while Williams and Lucente favor budget costs.
The other two council members, Nancy Dowdy and Lorie Smith, favor creating a stormwater fee. If they do, the largest employer in Waynesboro, Invista, would incur hundreds of dollars in fees that could overburden the company, possibly causing it to relocate. Read more here.
