Hiker injured on Blue Ridge Parkway

A Labor Day hike by a 40-year-old man ended at UVA Hospital Monday when a 40-year-old man fell more than 60 feet at Ravens Roose on the Blue Ridge Parkway 11 miles south of Waynesboro.

The accident happened after 6 p.m. when a 911 call was received from the man's friend who called for help. He reportedly had extensive injuries but is expected to survive.
