Temps in my neck of Augusta County this morning were 11 degrees with colder temps on the horizon, according to weather forecasters who say the coldest air of the season is headed our way with possible sub-zero low temperatures by the weekend.
GOP Rock sent this over with the title, "Global warming." Heh.
West of here they had overnight snow causing Highland County, VA, and Grant/Pendleton counties, WVA, to be on a snow delay this morning. The Navy base at Sugar Grove, WVA, is even opening late.
Meanwhile, we are still waiting for our first significant snow of the season. The cold temperatures are great for making snow at the resorts ... Massanutten and Wintergreen ... but it would be nice to have a little of the white stuff for sledding in our own back yards.
SWAC Husband has the wood pile stocked for the wood stove. I'm making chili and Brunswick stew to warm us through the upcoming chilly days, and bread is rising by the fire. This kind of cold weather is a good time to be snug at home.
Stay warm out there!
It's winter in the Shenandoah Valley....
