Global warming? MN dog race cancelled because of too much snow

In a continuation of news from a winter that has pounded many with snow and cold comes this story of a dog sled race that was cancelled because of too much snow.

The area around Frazee, Minnesota, has received 3 feet of snow with windy conditions that have caused 4-foot drifts. Those conditions have forced the cancellation of the race that has been billed as the Nascar of sled dog races.
“We can’t pack it,” race organizer Eddy Streeper said Monday. “We just can’t get it packed. We had to speak up on behalf of the dogs.”
They will try again in 2010.
