Landes, Saxman push to save Staunton children's mental health facility

A rally held in Richmond today included locals working to keep the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents, a mental facility for children, from closing its doors at the end of June as proposed by Democrat Governor Tim Kaine.

As reported by NBC-29:
Republican delegates Chris Saxman and Steve Landes plan to submit a budget amendment that would keep the center open for another year by delaying the purchase of new textbooks in the Commonwealth.
Mental health advocates say the same care would not be available for children in other facilities and want to see the Staunton clinic remain open.
