Bloggers are packing up their keyboards and heading to the Republican Advance in Williamsburg this weekend as Party electeds and activists gather to celebrate a sweeping win during the 2009 campaign season, and to roll up their sleeves to get to work on 2010 and beyond.
The 26th Annual RPV Donald W. Huffman Advance will include newly elected Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, and Atty. Gen.-elec Ken Cuccinelli.
RPV's New Media Committee will host five workshops during the weekend and feature a number of bloggers and new media users including Tucker Martin, Vincent Harris, Jason Kenney, Crystal Clear Conservative, Black Velvet Bruce Li, Deo Vindice, Virginia Right, Virginia Virtucon, Bearing Drift, Project Virginia, Erica Loves America, Tim Murtaugh, and others.
New Media workshops include New Media 101 offering an introduction to new media tools; Virginia New Media Roundtable featuring a panel discussion among leading Republican new media activists and professionals; New Media - Digital Politics for Campaigns & Organizers offering ideas on using social media in campaigns; and Raising & Spending Money Online - Tips and Tactics for Campaigns, Committees, and Advocacy Groups.
Blogging, tweeting, and video of the Advance will be going on throughout the weekend resulting in a well-covered event. Mix into that Colonial Williamsburg's Grand Illumination and Busch Garden's Christmas Town ... and it will be a fun-filled December weekend.
