They've been a staple in the SWAC area for years ... 24 years, to be exact ... and they will be playing their final farewell this weekend, bringing it all full circle to the place they began.
Wanda and the White Boys will play Saturday night as a benefit concert for ShenanArts, exactly where they began. Reporter Gina Farthing at the Waynesboro News Virginian has a good article about their accomplishments over the years.
My sister alerted me to this group years ago. Our neighbor Kevin Walsh plays bass for the band. They've sung at weddings, nightclubs, and events throughout the Commonwealth. They've traveled to Ireland and opened for nationally-known groups such as Three Dog Night and many others.
Ending? Say it ain't so. Farewell, Wanda and the White Boys ... we'll miss you.
