George Allen responds to Obama's HHS mandate

George Allen, U.S. Senate candidate, issued a statement on President Barack Obama's announcement regarding the U.S Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) health care mandate:
“This continued arrogant and absurd proposal by the Obama Administration doesn’t make realistic economic or principled sense. I would not support prohibiting contraceptives, nor is that the issue. This is an issue of the government overriding the First Amendment and dictating to religious organizations that they must provide services which are contrary to their deeply held beliefs. This latest political gimmick from Washington fails to address the intrusive government overreach in this health care monstrosity and shows among many reasons why Obamacare must be repealed and replaced.

“The federal government should not be dictating to small businesses, insurance companies, patients, doctors, religious organizations or anyone else what kind of health care coverage they are required to buy. The fact that my opponent, Tim Kaine, is cheering today’s political maneuver by this Administration underscores his continued misunderstanding of the harmful impact it’s having on seniors, families, employees, health care providers and small businesses in Virginia, while adding to our national debt. Tim Kaine believes Obamacare is a ‘great achievement.’ I believe it ought to be repealed.”
