Holiday Lantern Tours at Frontier Culture Museum
With the cold Shenandoah Valley night air reminiscent of Christmas past, enhance the season by joining one of the Holiday Lantern tours at the Frontier Culture Museum in the central Shenandoah Valley. This annual favorite will return December 15-23, from 6-8:00 nightly, with tours leaving the Visitor Center every 30 minutes.
The spirit of Christmas past comes to life as you walk the Museum grounds and experience holidays in history on this lantern-lit tour through the Olde World farmsteads decorated in a traditional manner. Each will present a vignette/play about Christmas past in England, Ireland, Germany, and the American farm in the New World. Horse-drawn wagons will transport visitors from the Olde World to America and back. Live music and refreshments will round out the evening at the Dairy Barn Lecture Hall.
Reservations are required and tours fill quickly. Contact the Frontier Culture Museum at (540) 332-7850. Tickets are $12 for adults age 13 & over, and $8 for children age 12 and under.
