American Solutions ... "Drill here, drill now, pay less"

I was honored to learn the American Solutions blog listed SWAC Girl's September 10th post, "Is anyone in D.C. listening? Drill here, drill now, pay less" along with other blots from throughout the nation that had mentioned the new Aaron Tippin song, "Drill here, drill now." 55 mph speed limit again? Noooooooooo.....

Anyone else remember when the national speed limit on interstates was 55 mph "to save gas"? Now our own Virginia senator John Warner has suggested we go back to that awful time and reinstate a national speed limit of 55 mph. If you disagree with his proposal, please contact him.

The blog Left Lane News called it correctly, in my opinion:

Republican politicians are supposed to stand for less government intervention in the lives of Americans. But don’t tell that to senator John Warner of Virginia. The lawmaker is considering asking Congress to reimpose a national speed limit similar 55 mph directive to the one introduced in 1974.

That abomination took 21 years to repeal. U.S. states have been free to set their own speed limits for the last 13 years, but if Warner has his way that could end — again. In a letter to Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman, Warner cites a study showing the 55 mph speed limit saved an average of 167,000 barrels of oil a day.

What’s unclear is how reducing oil consumption by 2 percent will ease the pain at the pump caused by $4 a gallon gas.

Come on, Senator ... please do not go that route again. Drill here. Drill now. Pay less.

57% ... and 9%

Those are the latest poll numbers ... 57% of Americans want to drill for domestic oil. As energy prices continue to rise, that number may also rise. In the middle of all this, the anti-coal moonbats want to sue Dominion Virginia Power to stop construction of the plant in Wise County. Do those clueless environmental whackos have any other suggestions on how to provide air conditioning and electricity to America? And why don't they protest in China where there may actually be some unsafe air quality issues?

A pathetic 9% of Americans approve of the Democratically-controlled Congress. Yesterday, Harry Reid blamed it on ... the President, of course ... because Democrats do not take responsibility for their actions.

"Approval" rating in the single digits ... wow.

Blame democrats & environmental radicals for high price of gasoline

It's not President Bush's fault that the price of gasoline has risen to over $3.00 a gallon. Hillary Clinton made a fool of herself at a recent presidential debate when she proclaimed embarrassment as a nation that our president had gone "begging" to the Saudis to increase oil production.

"It's pathetic," she said.

What is pathetic is the fact the environmental terrorists in this country have a stranglehold on the democrat party who have made laws assuring there would be no drilling for oil when we have ample reserves.

Michael Reagan, in his latest column, points this out:

Make no mistake about it, you are paying exorbitant prices at the gas pump solely because the environmental terrorists and their Democrat allies in Congress have all but shut down our domestic oil production while refusing to allow the exploration and creation of new sources of this resource so vital to our economic health.

Drill in ANWR? The dems say no. Drill off-shore? The dems say no.

Reagan adds:

We can’t exploit nuclear power or drill for oil in ANWR or the Gulf because Democratic members of congress have been bought and paid for by the most dangerous terrorists in America, the radical environmentalists.

I cannot say it any better than that.

Don't like high gasoline prices? Put the blame squarely where it belongs: on the democrats and radical environmental terrorists.

We need to drill for oil in the U.S.

The opening lines of the Fox News story say it all:

SHARM EL-SHEIK, Egypt — President Bush is hopeful that after talks with Saudi King Abdullah OPEC will authorize an increase in oil production to ease pressure on prices.

Over-zealous environmentalists in America have bred the situation that finds our country pandering to the Arabs for oil. They have crippled the oil industry over the past 30 years by forbidding drilling in Alaska and off-shore. It is past time to drill for oil in the U.S.
