Autumn in the Shenandoah Valley ... first frost

It was a cold 22 degrees this morning in the Shenandoah Valley with frost on the ground ... the first frost of the season accompanied by a hard freeze that will kill off any remaining potted flowers as well as vegetables in the garden. The forecast is for low 60s today with below-freezing temps again tonight.

This will help the leaves that have not begun to change but it will finish off ones that are clinging to the trees. After an extremely mild autumn, seasonal weather has finally arrived....
