Rain in the Shenandoah Valley!

Finally! After weeks of dry weather that had withered crops, dried up lawns, and distressed trees to the point of losing leaves, we have rain this afternoon.

Thunder storms are moving through the area and, while they have been hit-and-miss throughout the summer and more often have missed us, today they are hitting us. The fresh smell of rain on earth is wafting in the windows and I am ready to do a happy dance!

Here is hoping for some steady showers throughout the night. To check local weather go to Harrisonburg's WHSV TV-3.

It's summer in the Shenandoah Valley....
