Hello, Virginia! It is nice to be back.
SWAC Daughter and I flew into Richmond late last night, retrieved the Subaru from the parking garage, and headed across the river where we arrived at my parent's home in Midlothian after midnight.
After leaving Minneapolis Friday afternoon, we had flown to Charlotte where the first outer band of Tropical Storm Hanna had already gone through. From Charlotte to Richmond we had a little turbulence and light rain but this morning I awakened to downpours as the effects of Hanna made themselves more evident. Hopefully, this is a drought buster storm.
While watching Fox News this morning, they showed Hanna on the South Carolina-North Carolina border and heading up the coast. Looks as if SWAC Daughter and I will have rainy drive home to the Shenandoah Valley.
Our flight on U.S. Airways was another excellent experience just as it was going to Minneapolis a week ago. All planes were on time leaving and arriving, and our luggage made it, too. Some of the Virginia delegation are heading back today. We wish them safe travels.
