Fly Fishing Festival this weekend in Waynesboro

Drive by Waynesboro's Constitution Park this weekend and you will see it bustling with fishing enthusiasts enjoying the 9th annual Fly Fishing Festival today and Sunday.

Don't like to fish? Come on out and enjoy the wine tasting from area vineyards while taking in a beautiful day in the Valley that should be in the 70s on Saturday. Stroll the banks of the South River (south fork of the Shenandoah River), relax in a lawn chair, spend time with friends, and watch the fishermen as they cast for trout in the shallow waters.

Held annually, this is the only outdoor fly fishing festival in the country with demonstrations and speakers and hands-on opportunities at your fingertips.

The festival will run Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19, from 9 am until 5 pm in downtown Waynesboro's Constitution Park on the banks of the South River. Admission is $15 per person; children under 16 are free.

Come on out and try your skills fishing in the Shenandoah Valley.

More info is available from the Waynesboro News Virginian.
