09.12.09: America Goes to Washington

That Neil Diamond song, "They're Coming To America," could be renamed this Saturday to "They're Coming To Washington." Across the country thousands and thousands are making the journey to the nation's capital to stand up and make their voices heard.

Thousands of others will hold local tea parties and watch the event on Fox News from 1-3:00 pm at "We Surround Them" parties.

There are six buses filled to the max from the Shenandoah Valley with a waiting list as long as your arm of others who want to go with us. Many others are driving up and taking the Metro in ... others are taking their chances driving into DC. There may be traffic gridlock that day and you know what? That would be wonderful! Conservative Americans are finally making a huge statement and doing something they have never done before!

Here in the Valley, passengers are being picked up at four locations ... six buses, each with a bus leader, each with a cooler of bottled water, each with unique folks from these western Virginia communities who have the blood of the Founding Fathers coarsing through their veins ... those who are not afraid to stand up and be heard.

Most have never "demonstrated" before. Young people are being joined by their grandparents ... one couple legally immigrated to America from Holland and Germany and have seen socialism up close ... there are military veterans from Operation Iraqi Freedom, Desert Storm, Vietnam, Korea, and WW II. The stories are many and varied.

They love God and country. All are alarmed at out-of-control government spending. All are frustrated and concerned about the future of America. All feel so strongly that they are paying their own way and giving up an entire day.

On 9/12, the day after 9/11 when the worst attack ever occurred in America, history will again be made in America. It will be the day Washington was so inundated with concerned citizens from across the land that they could not all fit in the Nation's Mall.

From Glenn Beck's book, Common Sense, p. ix:

Do not remain neutral. Do not sit idly by. Do not let others speak for you. Silence has gotten us nowhere so it's once again time for our collective voice to make a simple yet powerful demand ... Don't Tread on Me.
09.12.09: The Silent Majority will roar. Be part of us.
