"We're heading your way ..."

So wrote a reader from North Carolina today, a gentleman I have never met, but who emailed several weeks ago to say they were traveling to the SWAC area for Labor Day weekend and he had read on my blog about various places he wanted to visit.

They plan to stay in Staunton for the weekend, and start with a visit to Polyface Natural Food Farm in Swoope on Friday while taking in a Shakespeare play that night. Saturday they will check out the Dayton Farmers Market and back to the Sheakespeare Theater that evening, and today he asked for additional places to visit since he had hoped to visit the Middlebrook General Store but it is currently closed. On Sunday they are exploring Grand Caverns. I have emailed other great places to check out and included my favorite downtown Staunton restaurants.

This is a great place to visit ... the mountains, the Valley, the history, the heritage.... There's a touch of fall in the air ... warm days and cool nights. I'm sure they will leave a little piece of their hearts in the Shenandoah Valley when they return home.

It's almost Fall in the Valley....
