Yet more bad news for the central Shenandoah Valley's job situation was announced by Waynesboro's Invista, formerly the DuPont factory, as news came out that they would be laying off 110 employees as the depressed economy continued.
Today's top-of-the-fold headline in the Waynesboro News Virginian spreads the sad news even as we enter the holidays on top of Mohawk Carpet's earlier announcement that they would be closing their Waynesboro plant on Dec. 18.
Layoffs have also been announced for McQuay in Verona, American Safety Razor in Verona, and Western State in Staunton.
