Massachusetts: Scott Brown leads in new poll

New poll numbers show Republican Scott Brown leading the Democrat 50-46% in Massachusetts.

Conservatives and Republicans from around the country are heading to Boston this weekend for a last get-out-the-vote drive seeking to fill the senate seat formerly held by the late Ted Kennedy.

NFL player Doug Flutie has endorsed Mr. Brown ... the Tea Party Express has also endorsed him as well as Move America Forward. The Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Mr. Brown and poured over $500,000 into this race.

A "money bomb" earlier this week raised $1.3 million in 24 hours.

All of which has caused concern for Democrats who just dumped another half-million dollars into opponent Martha Coakley's campaign amid reports that they are outspending Brown 2-to-1.

And where is President Barack Obama in all this hoopla? Apparently Obama has decided to stay out of the fray after embarrassing losses in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races in November 2009 when he publicly campaigned for Democrats who then lost by surprisingly large margins to their Republican opponents.

Keep an eye on this race because it will be interesting to see if conservatives can pull it off ... or will they be heartbroken as they were in NY-23.
