Skyline Drive closed due to weather conditions - UPDATED: Now open
UPDATE 3-10-11 at 12:45 pm: The entire length of Skyline Drive has been reopened.
It is now being reported that the entire length of the 105-mile long Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park has been closed due to weather conditions. In western Virginia we are seeing heavy rain and fog at the lower elevations with heavy snow at higher elevations.
WHSV TV-3 out of Harrisonburg is reporting "a Flood Watch is in effect for the entire viewing area until Thursday night. Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall will move in ahead of a cold front. By Thursday evening 2-3" of rain is possible causing flooding of low lying areas as well as small streams and creeks." Be safe out there....
