Historic Mississippi River flooding

Historically, the Mississippi River has changed course every 1,000 years and some say it has been trying to adjust its course for the past century. Will the disastrous flooding now taking place leave lasting changes? I've written about it in today's Washington Examiner ... Historic flooding wreaks havoc along the Mississippi River.
