Taking in the scenery while sitting in traffic

While sitting in this traffic Thursday afternoon because of a sinkhole on I-81, I took out my camera and snapped some photos of the scenery around me. I've never seen Rt. 11 so "up-close-and-personal" before. Sitting bumper-to-bumper provided the opportunity to look around and once again marvel at this beautiful place we call home ... the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
The Blue Ridge Mountains near Vesuvius.
We could smell the farm ... cows.
Historical marker for James McDowell, one of Virginia's governors, who was born on Cherry Grove Estate.
