This is it, folks ... the Fourth of July celebrated in Staunton, Virginia, with red, white, and blue bunting, patriotic decorations, lots of American flags, and a parade through Gypsy Hill Park featuring children, old cars, and politicians followed by entertainment and fireworks. It's Smalltown USA and Staunton knows how to do it with some of the best.
July 3 (Tuesday)

- 4 p.m. — Carnival Rides, Buffalo Brothers Amusements
- 6 p.m. — Vesper Service and Music, Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge, Teen Challenge Choir, Praise Group from Potter House Worship Center
July 4 (Wednesday)
- 7:30 a.m. — 2012 Firecracker 5K Run
- 10 a.m. —Parade
- Noon to 1 p.m. — Children's Hour, carnival rides open after the parade
- 1 to 3 p.m. — Country Showdown
- 3 to 4:15 p.m. — Jeremy Staubus
- 4:15 to 6 p.m. — Last Minute Band
- 7 p.m. — Ronnie Dove, Michael Hoover "Memories of Elvis"
- Around 9:30 p.m. - Fireworks after entertainment ends. They will be set off at Tams Lake in Gypsy Hill Park so most locations are good for viewing if there are no trees in the way.
