Staunton: Move May elections to November

Staunton's May elections for City Council generate a dismally low turnout at the polls. A proposal to move them to November sounds logical and is not only a money-saving proposition but also a way to engage more of the electorate.

Today's Waynesboro News Virginian editorial says:

We urge Staunton officials to make the change....

I concur. It's time to consolidate elections in all localities to November.
