Chaz packs the house for First Friday in Harrisonburg

Chaz Evans-Haywood, Harrisonburg-Rockingham Clerk of Court

Chaz offered a slide presentation of the courthouse.

Rockingham County GOP chair Mike Meredith.

When he took office in 2008, Chaz Evans-Haywood fulfilled a campaign promise: catalog and inventory the contents of the Courthouse ... and what a treasure-trove of goodies he found. With the help of the Library of Virginia, documents dating back 200 years were discovered from such history makers as James Madison and Joshua Wilton. A hundred-plus years of wills and other legal documents are now being catalogued and restored.

With slides and commentary, it was an interesting presentation to a packed room of 60 folks who came out for Harrisonburg/Rockingham's First Friday lunch.
