It's time for the General Assembly to head back to Richmond and that includes state Senator Creigh Deeds after his unsuccessful 2009 bid for governor. The
Richmond Times-Dispatch caught up with Sen. Deeds before the hustle and bustle of the 2010 Session:
State Sen. R. Creigh Deeds is asked if he's excited about returning to Richmond this year after his gubernatorial defeat in November to Republican Bob McDonnell.
"You've seen that commercial on TV where the guy's got two little girls sitting at a table and he says, 'Would you like a pony?'" Deeds starts.
"And he gives the one little girl the toy pony, and he says to the other little girl, 'Would you like a pony?' And then he calls out a real pony," he continues.
"I feel like the little girl with the toy pony."
That's revealing. And then there's this:
"I'm surviving, doing the best I can," he said. "I mean, what choice do I have, right? You got to keep going. You just have to keep moving."
