A huge rally will take place today in New York City from Noon until 3:00 p.m. Eastern time to protest plans to build an Islamic mosque and community center 600 feet from the location of Tower One of the Twin Towers.The proposed project would be a 13-story community center that would house the mosque, a gym and swimming pool, and a performing arts center.
Many police officers, firemen, and families of those killed by the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, are expected to attend. The rally will take place at the corner of Church and Liberty Streets at Zuccotti Park. For more information go here.
